Privacy and legal
Short version: this site doesn't track you. Here's the long version, because I'd rather you didn't have to take my word for it.
What this site collects
Very little. No cookies, no contact form, no advertising or social media scripts. The fonts are served from this domain. The GitHub and LinkedIn links in the footer are plain links — nothing loads from those sites until you click. The one thing that does load from outside is the analytics beacon described next.
Analytics
I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages get read. Cloudflare adds a small script to each page as it serves it; I didn't write it and it isn't part of the site itself. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and doesn't fingerprint you. What it records is the page you viewed, the page you came from, your country, your browser and device type, and how fast the page loaded. That gives me a chart of visits per page and per country, and nothing that points to a person. Cloudflare explains the details in its Web Analytics overview.
Your theme choice
If you flip the light/dark toggle, the choice is saved in your browser's localStorage so the site remembers it next time. It never leaves your browser, and you can clear it like any other site data.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare keeps request logs — IP address, browser, which pages were asked for — for security and performance. I don't have access to the raw logs. How long Cloudflare keeps them is covered in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
If you email me
Your message stays in my mailbox for as long as our conversation is useful, or for as long as we work together. There are no mailing lists to add you to. If you want an email deleted, say so and it's gone.
Your rights
If you're in the EU, the EEA or the UK, the GDPR gives you the right to see, correct or delete what I hold about you — which in practice means emails. Write to alex@easybridge.dev. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, though I'd appreciate hearing from you first.
Code samples
The text and illustrations on this site are mine — all rights reserved. Code samples are different: they're meant to be copied. Anything inside a code block is released under the MIT No Attribution licence (MIT-0). Copy it, change it, ship it, commercial or not. No credit required.
Not legal advice
Some posts discuss the ADA, Section 508, the European Accessibility Act, VPATs and ACRs. I write them as a frontend engineer and a certified DHS Trusted Tester, not as a lawyer. Laws differ by country and they change. If a deadline, a contract or a lawsuit is involved, talk to someone who is qualified to give legal advice.
